FOODSERVICE SAFETY TRAINING
This training is targeted to any job in a restaurant, cafeteria, food service and any job relating to food and food products. Each of these topics is designed to provide training and knowledge in the restaurant environment. These programs will provide information on how to operate in a safe manner within the various functions relating to restaurant safety. With this knowledge and training, you would be a welcome employee to any restaurant or food service organization.
Back Injury Prevention (6010AE)
This program explains the mechanics of the back and how it works. Proper lifting techniques will be shown. Also covered is how to avoid muscle strains. Regular exercise is encouraged. (10 minutes)
Bloodborne Pathogens (6012AE)
Bloodborne pathogens are pathogenic micro-organisms that are present in human blood that can cause disease in humans. Hepatitis B and C, HIV (AIDS) are discussed and how they are transmitted. Those working in jobs where they might come in contact with BBP should receive a vaccine. (12 minutes)
Bus Person, Dishwasher and Janitor Safety (6006AE)
This program applies to all 3 jobs in any restaurant. It is an overview on proper dress, wearing clean uniforms and aprons. Covers common injuries such as minor cuts and burns and injury prevention. Proper use and handling of chemicals is discussed. Safe use of electrical equipment is reviewed. (14 minutes)
Dishwasher Safety (6016AE)
This film is about the causes and elimination of food contamination. At room temperature, bacteria can multiply at a rapid rate. The correct food cooking and freezing temperatures, chemicals and pesticides, and sanitizing utensils are discussed. (10 minutes)
Electrical Safety (1049IE)
This presentation is on electrical safety, grounding of electrical equipment, power/extension cords, double-insulation, 3-prong plugs, wires, and a good safety overview of electrical safety in the workplace. (17 minutes)
Fire Extinguisher Training (5009AE)
Illustrates the use of fire extinguishers, classes of fires, PASS, and information for training persons on fire extinguisher basics, and improving fire prevention awareness. (14 minutes)
How to Prevent Slips & Falls (1001IE)
Lack of attention to where you are walking can cause you to trip, slip or fall. Proper floor maintenance, repairing torn carpeting, falling from a ladder, and wearing the proper footwear is reviewed in this film. (10 minutes)
Lockout/Tagout (5011AE)
This program is training for “affected” an “authorized” employees in lockout/tagout procedures who work in kitchens, laundry rooms and maintenance. (11 minutes)
Restaurant Employee Safety Orientation (6001AE)
Teamwork is the key to success. A safety program and safe working conditions alone cannot prevent accidents and injuries. Safety awareness is checking for unsafe conditions. Emphasis is on safety awareness and behavior. This program includes information on safe lifting, knives, broken glass, dress code, and fire extinguishers. (13 minutes)
Sanitation & Hygiene (6011AE)
Food borne illness is prevalent in the home, restaurants, hotels, and retail establishments. This film discusses food contamination, micro-organisms, bacteria, how food becomes contaminated, food temperatures, and the difference between cleaning and sanitizing. (10 minutes)
